Russian Foreign Ministry: Taliban promised to prevent the transfer of militants from Afghanistan to Ukraine

Russian presidential envoy to Afghanistan Damir Kabulov said that the Taliban had assured that they would do everything possible to prevent the transfer of fighters from terrorist organizations, including ISIS, to Ukraine.

Asked by a journalist whether Russia is in contact with the Taliban following reports that third countries are recruiting fighters in Afghanistan to send them to Ukraine, Kabulov told Novosti Agency: this within the limits of their real possibilities. They are not hypocrites at all.”

The Taliban, after coming to power in Afghanistan in August 2021, promised that there would be no threat to the security of Russia and the countries of Central Asia from the territory of Afghanistan.
