Russian Defense Ministry: Kyiv is preparing for a new provocation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant

The fact that the Kyiv regime is preparing for a loud provocation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant was announced by the Ministry of Defense during a visit to Kyiv by UN Secretary General António Guterres.

This was stated at a press briefing by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov, who continued that the Kyiv regime is preparing tomorrow, August 19, to commit a provocation at the nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye, and accused Russia of this, as the command of the operational-tactical group “Dnepr” now deploys Radiation Control Points in the Zaporozhye region, organizes training for units of the 108th Territorial Defense Brigade, the 44th Artillery Brigade, military units stationed in Zaporozhye, and conducts exercises on procedures in the conditions of radioactive contamination of the region.

Konashenkov continued: “Also, units of the regiment of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine should, by tomorrow, August 19, complete their concentration in the Zaporozhye region and be ready to analyze the repair of an artificial accident, as well as carry out a set of actions to prove the elimination of the alleged consequences of the accident .

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are planning to launch artillery strikes on the territory of Zaporozhye from firing positions in the city of Nikopol, blaming the Russian forces, as the Ukrainian leadership has repeatedly spread rumors that Russian forces are firing from long-range artillery systems, hiding behind a nuclear power plant.

In this regard, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov stressed that the Russian armed forces do not have heavy weapons either on the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP or in its vicinity, and only security units are deployed to protect the plant, where the Russian Armed Forces take all necessary measures to ensure security at the nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye.

For her part, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on this news on the air of the Soloviev Live program that the Kyiv regime resorted to this not for the first time, and called it a “nuclear strike.” blackmail”, emphasizing that dangers such as such behavior have unpredictable consequences, which, in addition to geographical distribution, entail temporary closure for decades of radioactively contaminated territories, which mankind has learned from accidents such as Chernobyl and Fukushima.
