Russia’s ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, said “American efforts to inflict a strategic defeat” on Russia in Ukraine are “doomed to fail” and arms deliveries would prolong the death agony of the Kyiv regime
Commenting on the new package of US military aid to Ukraine, Antonov said on Friday that “all efforts by Washington to inflict a strategic defeat on us are doomed to failure.”
He added: “The Russian Federation is moving forward towards achieving its goals. Our forces are protecting the Motherland from unprecedented danger as they confront the Western-sponsored, US-led Nazis in Ukraine.”
He stressed that “American assistance will prolong the death agony of the Kyiv regime. But the danger it poses will be removed to the necessary distance from our borders, and all foreign weapons in the hands of Ukrainians in the field will be destroyed.”
It came as a commentary on Washington’s announcement of a new $400 million military aid package for Ukraine on Friday.
