The head of the Federal Tourism Agency, Zarina Dogozova, said that tourism in Russia recovered by 9 percent from January to September 2022, and the growth in tourist flow could be about 5 percent.
On the sidelines of the Forum of Russian Regions “Development of Tourism Infrastructure”, Dogozova told reporters that “tourist flow to Russia from January to September 2022 increased by almost 9 percent compared to the same period last year, amounting to 47 million people, by the end of the year, the growth in tourist flow may reach around 5%.
“From January to September inclusive, almost 47 million people entered, plus 4 million people compared to last year, and we expect an increase of about 5 percent compared to last year’s total,” Dogozova said.
Earlier, Dogozova said that from May to September, an influx of tourists to Russia is expected at the level of 31 million people, and by the end of the year, 61 million people are expected to choose a vacation in Russia.
Dogozova said she supported the forecast for the influx of tourists to Russia at 61 million people in 2022, despite logistical difficulties in southern Russia.
