The Russian Army Receives Experimental Batch of Self-Propelled Mortars “Druk”

The Russian state company “Rostec” delivered the first experimental batch of self-propelled mortars “Druk” to the Russian army.

Features of the Druk Mortars

It is noteworthy that the Druk was designed on the basis of an 82-mm mortar, which was installed on the Typhoon eight-wheeled armored car, where the gun can fire without leaving the vehicle, and the transition of the gun from transport mode to combat takes less than one minute, which helps personnel to evade enemy fire and increases crew safety.

A mortar gun was installed on the armored vehicle, which is equipped with mechanical guidance devices and a modern fire control system, which facilitates the work of crew members and increases the range of the gun by 1.5 times compared to the 82-mm Tray mortar.

In addition, the Druk was equipped with a small remote-controlled fighter turret with a 360-degree rotating machine gun and an electronic optical sight, as well as a portable 2B24 mortar that can be used outside the combat vehicle.

Effectiveness of the Druk Mortars

It is noteworthy that the Druk mortars that entered the Russian army are no less effective than their foreign counterparts, and in some cases even surpass them.

Another advantage of the Druk is the rate of fire, which reached 10 rounds per minute, given that the capacity of the mine stock is 40 minutes. In addition, the gun has anti-bullet and anti-mine shields, and also has the ability to maneuver, which allows it to quickly evade enemy fire.

Versatility and Purpose
