British newspaper Daily Star reported that Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo refused to move to Inter Miami, owned by former English football star David Beckham.
The newspaper added that Beckham had explored his Inter Miami team’s options to sign Ronaldo in an attempt to “boost the team’s performance and brand.”
The newspaper indicated that Ronaldo, 37, has given up on the idea of leaving United this summer and has opted to stay at Old Trafford.
And the Daily Star confirmed that Ronaldo and Manchester United are not thinking of parting ways this summer, and that the Portuguese star will continue his career at the Red Devils in the previous season.
Several reports have speculated Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester due to his dissatisfaction with the Red Devils’ management’s failure to bolster his side’s ranks with lucrative deals during this summer’s Mercato, and linking him to a move to Bayern Munich or Chelsea or even returning to the team he grew up with, Sporting Lisbon.
Ronaldo was Manchester United’s top scorer last season with 24 goals in 38 games across competitions, including 18 goals in 30 Premier League matches.
But since his return to Old Trafford last summer, things have not gone quite as planned for the Portuguese striker as he will compete in the Europa League next season rather than the Champions League after United last season. finished sixth in the Premier League standings.
