From yesterday (January 11, 2023), foreign investors in Russia will be able to obtain a residence permit in a simplified manner, in accordance with a government decree.

The idea of ​​the resolution is to grant foreign investors a residence permit directly without obtaining a temporary residence permit, and this takes place within the framework of the standards developed by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development based on international best practices and business requests. community.

According to the decree, foreigners can receive such benefits by investing at least 15 million rubles within three years before applying for a residence permit in socially significant projects in the regions of Russia.

Or by investing 30 million rubles in a Russian company, and the company must operate for at least three years and for the year preceding the application for a residence permit, you must pay taxes and contributions (social insurance) in the amount of 6 million rubles.

There is another option – registration of ownership of a legal entity (company) in Russia, provided that the legal entity has been operating for two years and pays annual taxes of at least 4 million rubles before applying for residency, according to the Deputy Minister economic development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Volvach.

The Russian official pointed out that a foreign investor can also obtain a residence permit in a simplified manner by purchasing real estate or real estate in Russia for any purpose, provided that the property is acquired during the construction phase or within two years from the date of receipt of permission to use the property from state organs.

It is required that the value of the property be 25 million rubles in Russia, except for Moscow, its value must be 50 million rubles and in the Far East 20 million rubles as a minimum, and it is also required that the property not be mortgaged (free of mortgage signs) and must pass one year from the date of its possession in order to apply for a residence permit on favorable terms.

Volvac believes that citizens of the Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan), the CIS, the Middle East and Asia will be interested in obtaining a residence permit in a simplified manner.
