Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi stressed the need for the Syrian army to extend its control to all Syrian borders and respect the national sovereignty of Syria.
In a statement during a meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad, Raisi said: “I am confident that the future will be in the interests of the people of this country. The patience and resilience of the Syrian people guarantee a bright future for the country and the region.”
He emphasized that “the Americans must withdraw from Syria”, believing that “America’s withdrawal from the east of the Euphrates and the entire region is the main and fundamental solution to the crises in Western Asia.”
In turn, Miqdad expressed gratitude for holding the Astana meeting in Iran, expressing satisfaction with the achievements and results of this meeting.
He added: “The statements of the Iranian president and the supreme leader of the revolution testify to the close alliance between Tehran and Damascus.”
