Former US President Donald Trump was furious after reports that he could be charged with paying money to silence porn in the closing days of the 2016 presidential election.
Trump wrote in a post on the Truth Social platform: “I have done absolutely nothing wrong and have not had an affair with Stormy Daniels, but I would like to have an affair with her. This is a political witch hunt, an attempt against the leading Republican candidate.”
According to The New York Times and The Washington Post, Trump has been offered the opportunity to testify next week before a grand jury in New York whose investigation is said to include a $130,000 payment before the 2016 presidential election to a pornographic actress known as Stormy Daniels. who says she was in a relationship with Trump.
The Times stated, “The kind of offers Trump has received to testify almost always indicate the inevitability of an indictment,” and so this would be the first time a former U.S. president has been charged with a crime.
