Poland’s largest fertilizer producer suspends production

Azoty, the largest Polish fertilizer producer, has suspended the production of a number of products due to rising natural gas prices, the press service of the Polish company reports.

The company said in a statement: “Due to record prices for natural gas, the main raw material used in the production of the Azoty group, the company has decided to temporarily stop the production of nitrogen fertilizers, caprolactam and polyamide-6, because. dated August 23, 2022″.

The company explained that natural gas prices have historically been unusually high as they have risen from €72/MWh on February 22 to €276/MWh on August 22 over the past six months.

The company also confirmed that it continues to produce catalysts, polyamide casings, humic acids, thermoplastic starch and concentrated nitric acid.

The company indicated that during the period of suspension of production, repair work will be carried out, including the repair of polyamide plants.
