Peskov Accuses Financial Times of Publishing Slanderous Claims on President of China’s Warnings to Putin

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the allegation that Chinese President Xi Jinping personally warned his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin against the use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine is slander.

Earlier, the Financial Times published such information, saying that it was based on sources in the Kremlin, China and Western countries.

Peskov added in response to a question about whether he confirms the newspaper article: “No, I cannot confirm this. I can only say that as a result of this important visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Moscow, a lot of information was put forward, there were statements in MASS MEDIA”.

And the Kremlin spokesman continued: “The essence of the negotiations is clearly set out in the documents adopted in the final documents and the joint statement. As for the rest of the publications, they are mostly fabricated.”
