Passengers line up in long lines at the largest airport in the Netherlands.

Passengers lined up in long lines at the Netherlands’ largest airport due to a lack of security personnel, angering passengers, some of whom justified crowding with a “mass exodus of citizens” from the country.

Social media users posted photos of the crowd at Schiphol Airport, noting that everyone around had already missed their flights.

At the same time, one user joked: “People are fleeing en masse from the Netherlands because of high energy prices.”

The airport authorities later said that due to a shortage of security personnel, airlines were asked to cancel flights in one of the departure lounges from 16:00 to 23:00 to reduce passenger traffic.

In the Netherlands, there was a massive campaign of layoffs after the end of the summer wage increase of 5.25 euros per hour.
