The Ministry of Health of Panama announced that it had recorded the first case of infection with the monkeypox virus in the country.
The ministry tweeted: “The first case of monkeypox has been identified in the country. He is in a 30-year-old man who is already receiving medical care. In this regard, contacts of the infected are being established in order to contain the spread of the virus.”
