The English Premier League has decided to postpone the matches of the seventh round, which were supposed to start on Saturday, due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
A Premier League statement said: “At this morning’s meeting, Premier League clubs paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to honor her exceptional life and contribution to the nation.”
And she continued: “As a sign of respect, the Premier League round will be postponed.”

Premier League chief executive Richard Masters said: “We and our clubs would like to pay tribute to Her Majesty’s long and enduring service to our country. As our longest serving queen, she has been an inspiration and left an incredible legacy behind her life. dedications.”
He added: “This is a very sad time, not only for the nation, but for the millions of people around the world who admired her. We share our grief with all those who mourned her passing.”
The league noted that more information on Premier League matches during the period of mourning will be provided in due course.
