Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram said in an interview with the press that his country supports the training of Ukrainian pilots in the use of American F-16 fighters.
“Norway is exploring various ways to promote F-16 fighter training for Ukrainian personnel,” Graham said in an interview with NRK, adding that the Norwegian government supports such an initiative.
Norwegian F-16s ended their mission in the Norwegian armed forces in 2022 and have been replaced by F-35 fighters, according to the channel.
The channel indicated that Ukrainian pilots are already being trained to use F-16 fighters in Poland and some other countries, and Denmark announced this week that it wants to play a major role in training Ukrainian pilots.
Earlier, Russia sent a memorandum to NATO countries on the supply of weapons to Ukraine, and the Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that any supply of weapons to Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. And that the NATO countries are “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Ukraine.
