New Head of Turkish Central Bank appointed by Erdogan

The Turkish official newspaper has confirmed that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has appointed Hafiz Gay Arkan, the chief financial officer in the US, as head of the Turkish Central Bank.

A decree was issued on the appointment of an international banking expert, Gaius Arkan, as the head of the Central Bank in the Official Gazette.

The official newspaper also reported that Erdogan appointed her predecessor, Shihab Kafji Oglu, as head of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Authority (BDDK).

It is noteworthy that Hafiza Gaia Arkan, who is called “the youngest professor of finance” in Turkey, returned from the United States of America after studying and working in several banks and as an investment advisor.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry in the capital Ankara also witnessed the handover ceremony of former Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu to his successor Hakan Fidan.
