Competitions for the Mediterranean Games “Oran-2022”, which will be held in the Algerian city of Oran, ended on Monday.
The number of medals of Algerian athletes at the 19th Mediterranean Games has increased to 10 colored medals, divided between 6 gold and 4 silver, which deservedly topped the standings.
The second day also saw a big jump for the Egyptian mission after the addition of 7 new medals, bringing the total of Egypt’s medals to 12 divided into 3 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze.
The most outstanding achievement on the second day of the Mediterranean Games was the gold medal win in badminton by the Algerian duo Xila Julien Maamri and Sabri Madal Youssef who beat their Spanish counterparts (2:1).
The Algerian national team managed to win their first football match against Spain by scoring an unanswered goal.
The Egyptian national team also won a handball match against Italy with a score of 38-35 in the strongest matches of the first round.
The Egyptian women’s table tennis team won the gold medal after beating Italy 3-2.
The Moroccan mission won 3 bronze medals.

1- Algeria 6 gold – 4 silver – 0 bronze.
2- Turkey 6 gold – 0 silver – 5 bronze.
3- Egypt: 3 gold – 4 silver – 5 bronze.
4- Greece 2 gold – 0 silver – 2 bronze.
5- Italy: 1 gold – 6 silver – 5 bronze.
6- Serbia 1 gold – 1 silver – 1 bronze.
7- Croatia 1 gold – 0 silver – 3 bronze.
8- Slovenia 1 gold – 0 silver – 3 bronze.
