Marine Le Pen calls for lifting sanctions on Russia before Europe shuts off electricity

Marine Le Pen, head of the right-wing Rally National bloc in the French parliament, called for the lifting of sanctions imposed on Russia over the conflict in Ukraine because “it’s useless and the Europeans are suffering because of it.”

“I hope the sanctions disappear to avoid blackouts in Europe, especially with regard to gas imports,” Le Pen said at a press conference, denouncing what she called “the failure of the (French) authorities to act at all” after Emmanuel’s re-election Macron for a second term.

She noted that “in the first 100 days of his second term, almost nothing was done. The only thing that was done was to pass the bill on purchasing power, which was included in the plans so many times that Emmanuel Macron simply could not pass. But we clearly see that the law does not meet the needs of citizens.”
