Lebanese parliament approves draft budget for 2022

Today, Monday, the Lebanese Parliament approved the country’s draft budget for 2022 with 63 votes by voting.

During the meeting of the parliament, 63 deputies voted for the approval of the draft budget, 37 deputies voted against, and 6 deputies abstained from voting on it.

The draft budget included several items, most notably an increase in the wages of civil and military public sector employees, retirees, contractors and all employees in the state, twice the base wage, provided the increase was at least 5 million Lebanese. pounds sterling and not more than £12 million, and this increase is exceptional and limited in time. Until the final decision on wages, and they do not count towards end-of-service or old-age pension compensation.

According to the import budget, the customs dollar was calculated at 15,000 Lebanese pounds, Acting Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced at the meeting.
