Lavrov: Washington sends vague signals about… "Start"

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed that Moscow is receiving scattered signals from Washington about the resumption of dialogue on the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START).

“The Russian-American dialogue between countries is practically frozen due to the fault of the United States, and it is objectively impossible to maintain normal communication with Washington, which declares the strategic defeat of Russia as the goal,” Lavrov said.

Lavrov noted that this also applies to consultations on issues of strategic stability and arms control.

“Of course, we note separate signals from the US administration and personally from Joe Biden regarding the resumption of dialogue on the START treaty, but its purpose remains unclear,” he added.
