Moroccan club Raja Club Athletic Club de Casablanca announced today, Wednesday, its parting ways with its Tunisian coach Faouzi Benzarti, just two and a half months after he took over the technical management of Al Nusour.
Raja revealed in a statement posted on his Facebook page that the club had reached an agreement with Faouzi Benzarti to terminate the contract between the two parties by mutual consent.
The statement indicated that Aziz El Badraoui, president of Raja Casablanca, held a lengthy meeting that lasted more than three hours with Faouzi Benzarti to convince him to reverse the decision, but the Tunisian coach insisted on leaving for personal reasons.
The Raja thanked Coach Benzarti for his work and wished him well.
Benzarti hinted at his desire to leave after the last match, in which Raja drew 1-1 with Mogreb Tetouan, when he confirmed that there are things the team does not understand and that he is ready to leave if he is the cause of negative results.
Former Tunisia coach Mondher El Kabir remains the hottest candidate for Raja’s job, succeeding compatriot Benzarti.
