Lavrov in a speech before the Council of the League of Arab States: the position of the Arabs on the crisis in Ukraine is balanced, and the West ignores our concerns

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov praised the moderate position of the Arab countries regarding the development of the Ukrainian crisis, stressing that Russia is open to dialogue with the Arab world and with all countries of the world.

Lavrov said during a speech at the headquarters of the Arab League today, Sunday, that Russian-Arab relations are built on friendship and friendliness, indicating that he agrees with the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Abul Gheit, to identify additional plans to strengthen relations between two parties in different areas.

Lavrov also praised the moderate position of the Arab countries regarding the development of the Ukrainian crisis, stressing that Russia is open to dialogue with the Arab world and with all countries of the world.

Lavrov also explained the reasons that prompted Moscow to launch a military operation in Ukraine, explaining: “We had legitimate concerns about our security, and our concerns about NATO expansion and Ukraine’s acquisition of large quantities of Western weapons were ignored.”

He continued: “Minsk agreements have been violated, Kyiv has fired artillery at areas that reject it, and the European Union has not completely fulfilled its obligations.”

Lavrov pointed out that the Kyiv regime deliberately banned the Russian language in eastern Ukraine, spread racism, anti-Russianism and support for Nazism, recalling that “the West interfered with the negotiation process”, while stressing that Russia does not close the door to negotiations with Ukraine.

Lavrov also pointed out that the Europeans believed that NATO had the right to dominate and do whatever it pleased, emphasizing that Moscow rejected this policy, emphasizing that NATO countries cannot maintain their security by threatening the security of another country.

Regarding the grain crisis, Lavrov said that Russian forces had secured passages through the Black Sea for the passage of grain ships, but Ukraine was unable to do so due to the laying of mines in Black Sea ports.
