The Delphi media website reported that police arrested 14 people during protests against the demolition of a monument to Soviet soldiers in World War II in Latvia.
The website states that dozens of people demonstrated on Tuesday against the demolition of the monument to the liberators of Riga from the Nazis.
In the morning, construction equipment and workers arrived at the site, and the memorial was fenced off.
The work was carried out under police escort.
The Riga City Council announced that the dismantling of the monument is planned to be completed by November 15.
