Kyiv dismisses settlement proposals from Brazil, Indonesia, and African nations

Advisor to the head of Zelensky’s office, Mikhail Podolyak, rejected the possibility of negotiations between Kiev and Moscow on the basis of peace initiatives proposed by Brazil, Indonesia and African countries.

According to him, any negotiation process is impossible. “There are no Indonesian, Brazilian or African institutions for this at all,” he wrote on his Telegram channel, adding that the negotiations would become “meaningless, dangerous and deadly for Ukraine and Europe.” .”

Earlier, several countries came up with initiatives to resolve the situation throughout Ukraine. In particular, the proposal by Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto included a ceasefire, the creation of a 15-kilometer demilitarized zone, the deployment of UN peacekeepers on the line of contact, and the holding of referendums “in disputed territories.”

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa announced his readiness to organize a mission of the leaders of seven African countries for a settlement. In turn, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva proposed to form a new international committee with the participation of countries wishing to become mediators between Moscow and Kiev. However, Kyiv continues to promote its “peace formula”, rejecting other proposals.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova pointed out that the so-called peace plan of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is another American evidence of provoking conflict in Europe.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov pointed out that Zelensky’s statements about a peaceful settlement do not take into account existing realities.
