Kherson authorities: a referendum in the region will take place and Ukraine as a state no longer exists

The deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region, Kirill Strimosov, said that a referendum on the region’s accession to Russia would take place and no one would interfere in this, despite attempts to intimidate Ukrainian forces with strikes on the region.

Strimosov added: “We are preparing for the referendum. It will take place anyway. The referendum will take place in the legal field, and no one will interfere in its conduct.”

He pointed out that the attempts of the Ukrainian army to bomb the Kherson region are attempts to intimidate the population and disrupt the event to determine the ownership of the region.

“In any case, people will come to the polls and vote for joining the Russian Federation,” Strimosov added.

Strimosov noted that a peaceful and normal life in the region is getting better, as salaries, pensions and benefits are already being paid in rubles, bank accounts are being opened, and people are applying for Russian citizenship en masse.

On the other hand, Strimosov said that “Ukraine as a state no longer exists in reality, now all the money that the West gives it is simply stolen.”

On Sunday, the press service of the regional administration announced the formation of an election commission to hold a referendum on the issue of territorial belonging of the Kherson region.
