Japanese government resigns

Japan’s entire government resigned on Wednesday, according to the Kyodo news agency.

The extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers began at 11.30 local time (05.30 Moscow time).

As expected, the new composition of the Japanese government, headed by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, will soon become known.

A cabinet reshuffle was originally expected early next September, but Kishida decided to do so now due to his intention to accelerate the economic concept of “new capitalism”, the need to take action due to high food and fuel prices, and to to prepare in advance for the parliamentary session.
