Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola announced on Friday that Bernardo Silva will remain with the English side, seemingly ending a summer of uncertainty over the Portuguese midfielder’s future.
Reports have linked Silva to a move to Barcelona and Guardiola said this week that the Portuguese footballer “loves Barcelona very much”.
Guardiola has also previously stated that he does not want to keep players in the ranks of City if they are unhappy.
However, with the summer transfer window less than a week away, Guardiola said Silva would not leave Manchester City.
In response to a question about the alleged offer of Silva from Paris Saint-Germain, Guardiola said: “We have not received any phone calls from any club regarding Bernardo Silva. That’s why he will stay.”
