Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced today, Friday, the creation of a reinsurance company to support trade in the Eurasian region.
The head of the Russian government said that the task of the new insurance company would be to support trade, and indicated that the company plans to issue its own bonds.
Russia and Belarus will be the founders and main shareholders of the company with shares of 45% and 30% of the authorized capital.
The announcement of the creation of the company came after the Prime Ministers of the Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan) agreed on this within the framework of the Intergovernmental Council of Kyrgyzstan.
The importance of reinsurance companies arose after Western sanctions were imposed against Moscow and Minsk.
