On Wednesday, Israel’s official Kan channel released the demands it says Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz will present to his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar during their meeting scheduled for Thursday.
The channel said, “The defense minister will inform his Turkish counterpart that Israel does not accept Ankara hosting high-ranking Hamas officials such as Saleh al-Aruri and others.”
She added that Gantz would inform his Turkish counterpart that Ankara should stop constantly condemning “Israeli security activities” in connection with Israeli military operations in the West Bank.
She pointed out that the resumption of relations between Israel and Turkey angered Cyprus and Greece, but Israel would express its readiness during the Gantz Akar meeting to mediate the gas crisis between the two sides.

Earlier, Gantz said as his plane took off for Turkey, “I am now starting an official visit to Turkey, during which I will meet with Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar. defense ministers of the two countries, and I welcome this.”
The Israeli Defense Minister expressed his desire to hold “fruitful discussions on ways to strengthen security, stability and peace in the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean.”
The last visit of an Israeli defense minister to Ankara was ten years ago, when Ehud Barak visited Turkey in 2012.
