Israeli Army Launches Gas Bomb Attack on Families Exiting Jenin Camp: Urgent International Intervention Sought by Ministry of Foreign Affairs

In a statement released on Monday evening, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry called for urgent international intervention to stop the displacement of civilians from their homes in the Jenin camp.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned in the strongest terms “the crime of expelling and displacing Palestinian families in the Jenin camp from their homes under spurious security pretenses amid Israeli forces intimidating the camp.”

The ministry said it reminds us of the plight of our people, considering this crime a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions and Israel’s obligations as the occupying power of Palestinian land.

The ministry called on the international community and relevant United Nations agencies to intervene immediately to protect the civilian population from Tel Aviv’s harassment.

Painful scenes have been circulated by activists showing Israeli forces attacking some families with gas bombs as they left the Jenin camp.

Earlier, an RT correspondent reported that a mass exodus of Palestinian families was taking place in the Jenin camp, noting that 500 families had been evacuated from the camp.

The Red Crescent in Jenin also mentioned that they have evacuated 3,000 Palestinians from Jenin so far and the number is increasing as the occupation threatens to destroy the camp.

Since Monday morning, the Israeli army has been conducting a military operation in Jenin, which includes airstrikes. Jewish media reports that among the forces participating in the operation, which Tel Aviv called “home and garden”, there are “a commando brigade, a paratrooper brigade, covert strength and strength of Yamam.”
