Israeli Defense Ministry spokesman Avichai Adraei said Israeli army and defense officials took part in the African Lion 2022 international military exercises in Morocco for the first time.
Adraei said that “the head of the Middle East and North Africa Division of the Department of Political and Military Affairs of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, who also works as a military attaché in Morocco, in addition to two Israeli army officers, participated as spectators in the African Lion 2022 international military exercise, which took place this week in Morocco. Conducted by the US Africa Command and the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, the past one is the largest annual exercise organized by both armed forces in Africa.”
He added: “Israel’s participation in the exercise is an additional step in strengthening the security relationship between Tel Aviv and Rabat.”
“The security and defense ties between us are part of a broad and growing set of ties across the economy, culture, education, sports and more,” he added.
