The Iraqi Football Association has responded to some media reports that the Gulf 25 tournament, which will be held early next year in Basra, State of Kuwait, has been postponed.
And the Iraqi Federation said in a statement released today, Sunday, on its Twitter account: “The Iraqi Football Association refutes reports from some media about the postponement of the 25th Gulf Cup tournament, which will be held in Basra early next year. “

The statement added: “The Federation would like to clarify that the visit of the Inspection Committee to the State of Kuwait today, Sunday, is a routine visit and is in accordance with the directives of the Executive Office, which provide for a visit to the country that will host the next championship and an alternative country.”
The statement further reads: “The Gulf Arab Cup Football Federation has denied some media reports that the next 25th edition, which will take place early next year in Basra, will be moved to the State of Kuwait on the previous occasion, and that the Persian Gulf Cup Federation Gulf is preparing this visit to see the readiness of an alternative country. Do not go beyond this range.”
The 25th Persian Gulf Cup will be held from 6 to 19 January next year with the participation of 8 teams in the Iraqi city of Basra.
