Injuries complicate Al Ahli’s challenge in Egyptian League race after El Gouna matchup

Syed Abdel Hafiz, Al Ahly’s director of football, announced that a new trio in the team had been injured following the match in El Gouna that brought them together on Sunday in the Egyptian Premier League competition.

Al-Ahly managed to beat El Gouna with two goals without a response in the twenty-sixth round of local competition.

During televised statements made by Syed Abdel Hafiz after the end of the meeting, he revealed that the trio of Amr Al-Sulaiya and Mohamed Abdel Moneim, along with Salah Mohsen, were injured.

Syed Abdel Hafiz continued his statements: “Mohamed Abdel Moneim was slightly injured, but the technical staff saw his replacement for fear of aggravating the injury.”

Regarding the position of Amr Al-Sulaiya, he replied: “The player felt tension in the muscles of the back and he will be X-rayed to determine the duration of his absence from the team in the coming period.”

Abdel Hafiz continued: “Salah Mohsen felt tense at the end of the match, but Karim Fouad came out healthy and not injured.”

He concluded: “The match in El Gouna is very important in light of the pressure of matches, absences and the season that is about to end.”

Al Ahli are gearing up for their upcoming showdown with their Egyptian counterpart Al Makasa in the Egyptian Premier League next Wednesday night.
