Indication of the resumption of oil transportation from Russia to the Czech Republic

The Russian company Transneft announced today, Friday, that payments for the transit of Russian oil through Ukraine to the countries of southern Europe, including the Czech Republic, have been made.

The Russian company added that they are waiting for confirmation from the Ukrainian side about receiving payments (money) to start pumping oil from Russia to the Czech Republic through the Druzhba pipeline.

Deliveries have been halted in recent days due to Western sanctions imposed on Moscow, and the Russian company Transneft reported that the Ukrainian company Ukrtransneft on August 4 stopped the pumping of Russian oil through the southern branch of the river. “Drugba” to Hungary (Hungary), the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where the Russian side was unable to pay transit fees for technical reasons due to EU sanctions against Moscow.

Later, energy companies in Hungary and Slovakia agreed with the Ukrainian side to resume supplies after they themselves pay the cost of oil transit, as a result of which operations for oil supplies from Russia to Slovakia resumed last Wednesday and to Hungary on Thursday evening.

It is noteworthy that the Druzhba oil pipeline, opened in 1964, is one of the most complex oil pipeline networks in the world, with a length of more than 6,000 km.
