Hungary rejects EU gas plan as unworkable

Hungary on Tuesday voted against the European Union’s gas cut proposal, calling the plan “unworkable.”

“We were the only ones who indicated that we would vote against this decree, given that it completely disregards the interests of our people,” Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said in a statement from Brussels after EU energy ministers approved the proposal.

“This is an unjustified, useless, impractical and harmful proposal,” he added.
