Headed by former Barcelona coach. 4 candidates for Al-Ahli coach from Egypt.

Former Barcelona manager Kiki Sittin has joined the circle of coaches appointed to lead Al Ahli from Egypt, replacing Portugal’s Ricardo Soares, who is likely to leave the club at the end of the current season.

Sports journalist Amir Hisham said on his radio program on Radio Greater Cairo that Kiki Sittin is on the list of names presented to the Al Ahly administration to replace Soarish.

He added: “Al-Ahly has not opened any lines of communication with the Spanish coach but the name is Matruh and his salary could be within the reach of the Red Castle and the new coach will be a big name in the training world anyway.”

He continued: “Sittin was supposed to lead the Saudi youth team for the new season and was agreed to a salary of €3.7 million for two seasons, but negotiations fell through in the final moments.”

Amir Hisham concluded: “So far, Bosnian Vahid Halilhodzic is the most prominent candidate, along with Croatian Zoran Mamić, and Carlos Queiroz is the fourth candidate.”

Ricardo Soares, who took over at Al Ahly last June following the departure of South African Pitso Mosimane, has been signed to take over the team for the next two seasons in addition to the rest of the current season.

Since his arrival, he has led Al Ahly in 15 matches, winning 8 matches, drawing 5 and losing two matches.
