Haaland set to break records against Bayern Munich as a destructive force.

Norway’s Erling Haaland is set to reappear at the Allianz Arena, but this time in a Manchester City shirt, after visiting the venue on numerous occasions when he was a Borussia Dortmund player.

Man City will visit Bayern Munich tonight, Wednesday, in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, noting that they won the first leg (3-0).

Sky Sport Germany noted the eventual achievement of the 22-year-old striker, who is the top scorer in the Champions League this season with 11 goals.

She pointed out that Haaland could break the record if he shakes Bayern’s gates today, reaching 12 goals.

And if that happens, Haaland will become only the second Premier League player to score 12 goals in a single season in the Champions League, after Dutchman Ruud van Nistelrooy in a Manchester United shirt in 2002-2003.

But the Norwegian would surpass the former Dutch striker if he scored 12 goals in just 8 matches, while Van Nistelrooy scored 12 in 9 matches.

Haaland could break the record if he scored a double, becoming the first Premier League player to score 13 goals in a single season.

Also, Haaland can finish the season under a different number, which was ahead of him only by Van Nistelrooy and Cristiano Ronaldo, ending the season as the tournament’s top scorer.
