Combat Readiness Check: Tu-22M3 Bombers Conduct Exercises Over Okhotsk Fleet and Japanese Navy

Eight bombers with Tu-22M3 long-range missiles conducted exercises over the neutral waters of the Sea of ​​Okhotsk and the northern part of the Sea of ​​Japan as part of the combat readiness test of the Pacific Fleet.

“As part of a sudden check of the combat readiness of the Pacific Fleet, eight Tu-22M3 long-range bombers made a combat training flight in the airspace over neutral waters, the Sea of ​​​​Okhotsk and the northern part of the sea coast. Japan,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

According to the Ministry of Defense, Tu-22M3 crews provided air support to the fleet forces.

The ministry confirmed that all long-range flights are carried out without violating the borders of other countries and in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace.

On April 14, a sudden check of the combat readiness of the Pacific Fleet and part of the Air Force and support units was announced. The main goal is to increase the level of readiness of the Russian armed forces to repel possible aggression from the sea.
