The Iraqi government announced today that the groundwork will be laid tomorrow for the start of the Basra-Shalamche (a city located in the Khuzestan province of Iran near the border with Iraq) railway project.

The Iraqi government said in a statement that the groundbreaking will take place after the Ministry of Transportation and Basra Province confirm the completion of procedures under Cabinet Resolution (23333) related to the implementation of the connection project.

For his part, Iraqi government spokesman Bassem Al-Awadi said that tomorrow the ground will be laid to start this vital project to transport travelers and visitors between Iraq and Iran, and this is one of the important transport projects in the region that will also be effective. facilitate the transportation of travelers and guests from Central Asian countries to Iraq.
