German parliament calls for Russian gas supplies via "Nord Stream-2"

Klaus Ernst, head of the German parliament’s committee on energy and climate protection, has called for Russian gas supplies to Germany via the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which Berlin has suspended due to sanctions.

Ernst believed that it did not matter which pipeline the gas goes to Germany, as long as it was Russian.

He confirmed to TASS that the Nord Stream 2 case was somewhat symbolic.

He stressed that if gas supplies to Germany can only be ensured with the help of Nord Stream 2, then Berlin should talk about its exploitation as soon as possible.

It is noteworthy that Russia confirms its readiness to supply gas to Germany via the aforementioned gas pipeline, in light of the reduction in pumping capacity through Nord Stream 1, which is under repair in some of its regions.
