German government encourages companies to buy generators for emergencies

The German newspaper Bild reported that the German Ministry of Economy has advised companies to purchase emergency power generators due to possible gas shortages.

According to the newspaper, citing government sources, the ministry recommended “equipping power generators in case of emergencies, especially critical infrastructure.”

The sources indicated that the generators must provide electricity for 72 hours.

The German Federal Gas Transportation Network said earlier this week that the gas situation in Germany is tense and worsening cannot be ruled out.
