French Economy, Finance and Industry Minister Bruno Le Maire promised that his country’s authorities would take the necessary measures to prevent a sharp rise in gas and electricity prices next year.
He said: “The maximum potential price increase of 4% will continue until the end of 2022. In 2023, price increases will be contained, as the president and prime minister have said.”
He promised to provide subsidies to low-income households with electricity and heating bill payers, as well as to support small and medium-sized businesses with 3 billion euros.
