Former US Secretary of Defense: Trump is not worthy to be president

Former U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper criticized former President Donald Trump, calling him “unsuitable to assume the presidency” after the latter announced his 2024 presidential candidacy.

“I don’t think he’s the right person for the job,” Esper said of the 76-year-old Trump. “He puts personal interests ahead of the interests of the country,” noting that while it’s hard for Trump to tell the truth, Americans need a reliable commander. -main.

He added: “I don’t think he is an honest person. We saw the lies that came out of his statements last night… Americans need a leader they can trust,” calling Trump’s speech announcing his candidacy again “boring.”

Esper also blamed Trump for the Republican Party’s failure to do better in Congress and state offices in the midterm elections, stating “Last week’s election is an example of Donald Trump not being able to win the election … his actions have helped the Democrats more than Republicans.”

Esper, who was fired after Trump lost the 2020 election, urged Republicans and Democrats to find new party bannermen.
