The head of the Combat Training Center of the Russian Armed Forces, Yevgeny Arevolin, said that Russian military formations were formed to destroy Western tanks deployed to Ukraine.
Arivolan indicated that the formation of these groups was at the direction of Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yunis Bek Yevkurov.
“On behalf of the Deputy Minister of Defense, a work plan has been formed in this area. The Combat Training Center is implementing this plan on the ground,” Arivolan added.
In early April, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the member countries of the alliance are working to increase the production of ammunition in order to increase their supply to Ukraine.
Stoltenberg noted that the first batch of Leopard and Challenger tanks has already arrived in Ukraine.
Stoltenberg noted that NATO countries have provided Ukraine with assistance worth about 150 billion euros, including 65 billion euros in the form of military support.
In total, Western countries promised to transfer 293 tanks to Ukraine, and by the beginning of April, Ukrainian troops received 57 of them.
