Europe’s Subordination to Washington Evident in Outcomes of NATO Summit in Vilnius

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said on Thursday that the results of the NATO summit in Vilnius clearly show Europe’s dependence on Washington.

“If you ask what word can describe the results of this summit in relation to the European Union or the Europeans, then it is worth noting the dependence of Europe,” Groshko explained on Channel One.

He drew attention to the statements of the leaders of the Baltic states that the deployment of “NATO” facilities on the territory of their countries is a measure that “prevents Russia from taking any actions in the future.”

“I don’t see anything logical in this, because from the point of view of their national interests, this is a disaster for them,” Groshko said.

He added: “The announcement of the threat by the alliance was the result of an artificially created geopolitical process to expand NATO in order to preserve the organization as an instrument serving the interests of Washington.”

And the press secretary of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, previously commented on one of the points of the NATO summit, not seeking a direct conflict with Russia, stressing that the alliance takes a significant part in this.

As Oleg Morozov, a member of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council, said about the outcome of the NATO summit and the agreement to help Ukraine build its land, sea and air defense system, it would be interesting to see what happens when NATO guarantees collapse under the blows of the Moscow army.
