EU bans Europeans from holding senior positions in Russian state corporations

The Council of the European Union has announced that the new Brussels sanctions prevent EU citizens from holding senior positions in all companies owned by the Russian government.

“From now on, citizens of the European Union are prohibited from holding any positions in the administrative structures of all legal entities, organizations and structures controlled and located in the Russian state,” the council said in a statement.

The Russian Foreign Ministry named the United States of America as the clear main beneficiary of the ninth package of EU sanctions against Russia.
