Enhanced Free Trade Agreements between Eurasian Economic Union and UAE in the Pipeline

Russia and the UAE plan to strengthen the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the UAE with a bilateral agreement on trade in services and investment by the end of 2023.

This was reported in the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, specifying: “The free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the UAE will be supplemented by a bilateral agreement on trade in services and investments between Russia and the UAE. The main agreements are scheduled to be reached by the end of this year.”

This was confirmed by Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov during a meeting with UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi at the international investment forum AIM Global 2023 and added that this group of agreements will allow Russian and UAE entrepreneurs and investors to maximize the benefits of bilateral trade liberalization .

“When developing a bilateral agreement on trade in services and investment, the existing bilateral and multilateral commitments of the two countries will be taken as a basis for creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs, service providers and investors,” the Russian minister said.
