Egypt issued fish import licenses to 34 Russian companies

Rosselkhoznadzor reported today, on Monday, that the Egyptian authorities have issued licenses for the supply of fish and seafood to the Egyptian market to 34 Russian companies.

The authorities explained that currently 89 fish processing companies and vessels are authorized to export products to Egypt, and that the agency is working to expand the list of Russian companies with export licenses to Egypt.

Director of the permanent exhibition of Russian food products in Egypt, Amr El-Beltagy, spoke about the readiness of the Egyptian market to accept the famous Russian chocolate “Alinka” and deliver it to Egypt in the near future.

In statements to RT, he indicated that work to increase the use of the ruble and pound sterling between Moscow and Cairo in trade will facilitate the import of many useful Russian products for an Egyptian citizen, and will also work to reduce food prices, especially since producers want to trade with Egypt directly and without intermediaries.
