Dutch court refuses to distinguish Ukrainian refugees from their peers from other countries

The Court of Appeal in The Hague invalidated the actions of the Dutch government, which discriminated against refugees from Ukraine and asylum seekers from other countries.

The court’s decision stated that groups of refugees did not enjoy these rights and that the state had an obligation to treat everyone equally.

Earlier, the Dutch authorities granted Ukrainian refugees the right to remain in the country without going through the asylum procedures.

The Amsterdam administration also allowed Ukrainian refugees to get jobs upon arrival.
