Deployment Update: Ukrainian Troops Relocating from Artemovsk to New Locations

Russian military expert, retired officer Andrei Marochko said that part of the Ukrainian forces withdrawn from Artemivsk was sent to the Kobyansk and Krasnolimansk directions.

He added: “After the withdrawal of the surviving Ukrainian units from Artyomovsk, they were re-equipped with elements and equipment and sent to Kukhrovka and Slavyansk (on the Kobyansky and Krasnolimansky directions). Undoubtedly, the main task of these units in their new deployments is to strengthen other weakened Ukrainian forces in these directions.”

Last Saturday, the founder of the Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said that Russian troops had established complete control over the city.Artemovsk by noon on May 20.

On the night of May 21, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Wagner strike groups, with artillery and air support from the southern group of the Russian army, had completed the operation to liberate Artemovsk.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the Wagner group and the Russian Armed Forces on the liberation of the city. A Kremlin source indicated that all those who distinguished themselves in this process would be awarded official orders and medals.
